She said that the software platform known as “VMware One workspace” has great potential to Myanmar to serve as a mobility solution. What makes you think that is?
We have the best customers after their entry into the Myanmar market. For example,  and Ooredoo Telenor, the telecommunications sector, and KBZ, CB and MOB on the bench. We often had to meet with them to discuss what their goals would be on the market next year. Telenor and Ooredoo want to transform their business through mobility and are providing solutions for them. Thus, we can speak with confidence about the market potential. Our application will win a broader market this year as the country was opened and more foreign investments are likely to come. The largest foreign investment received by the country, most of the data center should be built. The two are directly related.

What is the advantage of this software over traditional data storage systems, the majority of companies in Myanmar are still using?

There are three advantages. The application can greatly increase productivity. With this platform, the staff no longer have to sit in front of a computer to access the data. Instead, any device may be used. The data is stored in the cloud and can access their data at any time and anywhere, securely. Even if you lose your device, data will be lost. It will provide a great comfort to the employees of the company.

Every foreign investor to invest in Myanmar, say that the infrastructure is poor in the country. What are the difficulties faced VMware because of this?

We are a company able to improve infrastructure. We want to participate in building data centers to improve infrastructure. Connectivity has been very good since last year. Telenor and Ooredoo now use our platform. In addition, for banks that have established in direct fiber cables between the head office and its branches, so that we can offer our service with ease. Previously, when connectivity was not so good, companies were not able to use good solutions, need good Internet connections. But now, the connectivity is good and you can effectively use our platform. Several Internet service providers licenses have been published today and can use our solutions in the construction of data centers. I have high expectations for this. I hope that my country will develop by leaps and bounds within the next five years.

She said that their main customers are banks and telecom operators. What are your target customers and what will be the new business model?

Mainly, we’d like to go into education and health care markets. Universities can use the data center for teaching and learning. Hospitals can also use our services. Moreover, our solutions are also effective e-government initiatives. Our software will also be used in the construction of data centers to Parliament. There is plenty of space for the digital in Myanmar government functions. Currently, the functions of government are carried out mostly on paper, but will subsequently be computerized. Then you will be able to work more efficiently. Currently, the private sector market is stronger than the public sector. The private sector needs to act immediately, while the government adopts a long-term plan and gradually transformed.

Who will be rivals, local and global?

In Microsoft International and citric market are competitors, but offer different services. It can be said that we have no competitor against our platform as a whole. There is no local competitor. First, applications are developed and then create a platform to use these applications, so that they are different.

What is the main objective of VMware enter the market in Burma?

While working [VMware] in the US, I asked the general manager because they had not yet entered the market in Burma. They monitored Burma since the country opened in 2011. We have entered Burma last year. We entered the ten ASEAN countries, at the same time. And among the ASEAN countries, our market platform is growing the fastest in Burma. We plan to expand our business.
